Abstract

Real-time, local information about weather conditions is essential for precision agriculture. In this paper, we present the design and development of an Internet of Things (IoT) based weather monitoring network for better management of the weather condition risks affecting crops. The designed solar powered weather monitoring network provides real-time, reliable data on weather conditions to farmers using their smartphone. The system also issues alerts to farmers in special weather situations.
