Abstract

Bone health and arthritis disorders are significant health concerns, especially in the aging population. Traditional treatments for these conditions can be costly, invasive, and often come with adverse side effects. This chapter explores the potential of nutraceuticals as a safe, cost-effective, and noninvasive approach to promoting bone health and alleviating the symptoms of arthritis disorders. This chapter provides a comprehensive review of the classification of nutraceuticals, sources, and their application in bone health. Nutraceuticals such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and plant extracts possess anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immune-modulating effects, making them a promising alternative to traditional treatments. The mechanisms by which nutraceuticals work and their potential therapeutic applications for bone health and arthritis disorders are examined in detail. It also discusses the challenges and limitations of using nutraceuticals. The safety and efficacy of nutraceuticals in the prevention and management of bone health and arthritis disorders are also examined. The future directions of research in this field are discussed as well.
