Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of calcium channel blockers combined with standard chelation therapy in people with transfusion-dependent beta thalassaemia on the amount of iron deposited in the myocardium, on parameters of heart function and on the incidence of severe heart failure or arrhythmias and related morbidity and mortality.
