Congenital Abdominal-Wall Defects: Gastroschisis and Omphalocele

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Abdominal wall defects represent one of the most common surgical conditions in neonates. Improved understanding of the pathophysiology has allowed increasing separation of the conditions – gastroschisis and omphalocele – into distinct entities. This chapter will discuss the details of both conditions and cover improvements in care as well as future directions.
