Effect of physical activity on health-related quality of life in rheumatoid arthritis patients: Moderating role of hope

Abstract

Objective: To examine the moderating role of hope between physical activity and health related quality of life. Methodology: In this correlational survey purposive sampling technique was used to collect the data from patients in Government and private hospitals of Pakistan. The study was completed in one year from 2017 to 2018. Arthritis impact measurement Scale, rheumatoid arthritis quality of life questionnaire and Coping strategies questionnaire were administered on 250 rheumatoid arthritis patients. Sample size was calculated through G*Power sampling adequacy test. Moderation test through Process 3.0 were computed using SPSS 22. Results: Moderation analysis revealed that hope significantly moderate the relationship between Physical activity and health related quality of life among rheumatoid arthritis patients. Conclusion: The hope moderates the relationship between physical activity and health related quality of life.
