Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Infective endocarditis (IE) is a serious medical condition that continues to have high morbidity and mortality rates. Echocardiography is an essential tool for determining the diagnosis, prognosis, and optimal treatment for IE. Echocardiography is used in the management of native and prosthetic valve disease and cardiac implantable electronic devices. Appropriate use of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography with the complementary use of other imaging modalities is needed to optimize the care and outcomes of patients with suspected or definite IE.
