note = "Funding Information: For nearly two decades, injury and trauma experts in Pakistan and the United States have implemented a training program for students and professionals at the Aga Khan University (AKU), funded by the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fogarty International Center. The Trauma and Injury Research Training Program (TIRTP), based at AKU, and in partnership with the Weill Cornell Medical College and the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University in the USA, intends to develop and support a cadre of trained injury and trauma researchers in Pakistan and the region. Trainees of this program have seen great success in both research and clinical settings and focus on a wide range of subject matter expertise, including childhood injury, health systems, mental health, poisoning, research capacity, resuscitation, suicide/self-harm, and violence. This program has trained over 40 trainees in Pakistan and Afghanistan and has collaborated with local universities, hospitals, and governments to improve health systems and policies impacting emergency and trauma care. Funding Information: Publication of this supplement is supported by the NIH grant D43 TW 007292 through the Aga Khan University. ",
