Abstract
Thorough investigations were carried out in 107 proven genito-urinary tuberculosis patients in the Urology Department of Mayo Hospital and Tuberculosis Research Center of Pakistan Medical Research Council. The low frequency of the disease in spite of rampant pulmonary tuberculosis was significant. Its frequency was higher in younger age subjects belonging to the higher socioeconomic group. The pattern of clinical presentation varied and the only reliable diagnostic test was urine smear and culture for acid fast bacteria. The disease pattern in Pakistan has similarities with reports from India.
