Abstract

We report a case of pancytopenia in an elderly rheumatoid arthritis patient in which use of methotrexate (MTX) in very low dose (10mg/week), had led to accumulation of appreciable quantity of MTX in serum leading to bone marrow suppression. Immediate withdrawal of MTX and folate supplementation however led to a significant improvement of blood picture.
