Abstract

Mentorship, like in many other professions, holds key importance in nursing. But it is even more fundamental in the realm of leadership building as it effectively incorporates the essence of teaching by example and role modelling. This chapter narrates the story of two nursing leaders from Pakistan and how their mentor-mentee relationship developed simultaneously with the advancement and progress of nursing in the country. Further to a personal narrative, this chapter explores and outlines the key components of a successful and high-impact mentorship and how young nurses can implement these learnings into their professional lives for a more powerful leadership-building legacy.
