Abstract

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are by-products of cellular energy production and can damage various molecules in the body, resulting in oxidative stress (OS). This chapter discusses the link between OS and food, and how lifestyle choices can influence ROS production. It focuses on its treatment challenges and issues that are faced in the public and private sectors.
