Abstract

Vascular dysplasia is prevalent in patients with Down's syndrome. Several proteins, which are encoded on choromosome 21, may explain the increased incidence of vascular dysplasias such as moyamoya syndrome and abnormalities of the circle of Willis. Vascular dysplasia increases the risk of cerebrovascular accidents. We report a case of DS with MM and carotid dissection, which is the first time reported in the medical literature.
